Snow machines all work the same basic way. Fluid is fed into an airstream and broken into small bubbles that float down and look like falling snow.
Machine makers sell their own branded fluid because it is good business for them. Your machine does not require it.

How Much Do I Need?
Five gallons of finished fluid fills a typical 5 gallon tank one time.
At around 20 percent output that runs about 5 hours. Run it heavier and you will get closer to 3 hours. Most events land somewhere in between.
